Hello and welcome to the Rail Videos NI channel (Formerly known as Nirtrainman) this is the home of videos of trains from Northern Ireland Railways & Irish Rail.

Let me tell you a bit about myself my name is Matthew I am 27 and I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland and I have been a Railway Enthusiast all of my life.
On this channel you will see daily videos of the Railways in Northern Ireland & The Republic of Ireland.
As well as that from time to time videos from the railways in the rest of the UK will feature on this channel as well as the occasional videos from Model Railway Shows and Narrow Gauge Railways.
I personally prefer older trains so most of my videos will feature older locos & rolling stock but videos of more modern trains will feature every so often.

NIR 201 Class Loco 209 passes Adelaide while running light from York Road to Portadown. 10/5/24
Note Despite being smoky 209 was running fine she had been stabled in York Road for a few weeks acting as a spare loco prior to this move and these locos normally are smoky for a short while after being out of use for a period of time.

It's not everyday you see a Enterprise set departing from Platform 4 at Belfast Central / Lanyon Place heading southbound. 9004 206 Depart Central with a empty stock working to Dublin. This set had just worked the 14:00 Ex Dublin service which is booked to use platform 4 at Central. The train was then required to head back south in order to work a GAA special to Belfast that evening,

Throwback to March 2023 during a trip to England we see some Class 66 , 67 & 68 Action at High Wycombe & Wandsworth Road Stations. Saturday 15th June 2024 saw a rare 201 Class visit to Rosslare Europort. 219 Is seen running around the RPSI Cravens while on the 201@30 Railtour. She is then seen shunting the train forward in order to clear the platform starting signal. On Sunday 28th April 2024 the new Station building at Yorkgate / York Street opened to the public. 3014 Is seen departing York Street with a Ex Larne Harbour service. Stayed tuned for a video of a look round the new station building which will include photos of the old building.

Irish Rail 22000 Class DMU 22037 passes City Hospital with the 16:50 Ex Dublin Enterprise Service. 18/4/24 This unit was recently extended into a 6 car set. Units 22031 to 22045 ran in a 6 car formation from new until 2013 when they were converted into 5 car & 4 car sets. These units are now currently being converted back into 6 car sets.

No it's a 2600. The 2600s are currently getting their gangway doors removed and with them removed they look very similar to the 2800s.

What with the 201 and always falling
Age and high mileage they are a hard worked class. Sadly technical problems are unavoidable with any class of loco or multiple unit.

Thank you. The only 201 I know off for defo that has been to Rosslare is 216 on the Belmond and I think one of the other ones was one of the locos that is now out of traffic and lying in Inchicore.

I don't know. Apologies You will have to contact Translink and ask them.
@@RailVideosNI No set date as of yet, however in a Tweet, Irish Rail stated that their best estimate for opening is the 25th August 2024. Translink however, are stil maintaining that it will be open in September of 2024.
Even they call it train station now 😝

Seems like some trains say York Street, some still say Yorkgate. I rode 4004 up to York Street last week and it still said Yorkgate

@@thenoob883 They're not being scrapped.It was the last day of the station.
@@thenoob883 The CAF was a passenger service. The GM was running light to/from GVS as a celebratory final salute to GVS which closed at the end of traffic that evening.
Great video and I love that locomotive. I am glad that its not being scrapped. I would love to see freight trains come back to Northern Ireland once again. Even if NIR buy Stadler Eurodual's for that work.

I did not see the damage but its possible going to need a new engine
What will replace 4015
No visible damage as the all the damage that was done was underneath the unit. There is no replacement for the unit as it isn't withdrawn it will return to use eventually but it will be out of traffic for some time.
Is it correct that there are some Enterprise services in the coming months that use these Class 22000s? I'd like to ride one but not sure if they're operating in Northern Ireland or not

I see it dident uncouple its very odd to see a 12 car train you mainly see them in london on London victoria-Southampoton Central & Bognor Regis and london Victoria-Brighton
This move was a once off. (Look towards the front of 4015 in the last clip and you can see 4014 had been uncoupled - 14 was shunted into one of the stabling roads before 15 was moved forward)

No plus the platforms at the new (Railway Station) will only be able to accommodate up to 9/10 coaches as far as I am aware. This movement was a unit transfer

I was just wondering, is there a certain way that you can find out when and where maintenance trains such as this will be during a day? Because I'm not sure if such information is available to the public or not so I'm just curious how you manage to capture videos of rare sightings such as this. Great video btw.
